Description
Alternate Leaf Dogwood is a slow-growing large shrub/small tree that reaches 15 – 25 feet high. Leaf branching arrangement is alternate unlike other dogwoods which have opposite leaf arrangements. The top-side of the leaves are a dark green colour with a lighter shade of green on their underside.
The Alternate Leaf Dogwood blooms clusters of white flowers beginning in May and ending in June. Berries produced are a dark blue colour on bright red stalks, and begin growing mid-summer
